Welcome Back

Finally the NRL is back for 2010! And it's a welcomed return from me and many of my friends. I have something to watch on tv now, the last few months have been boring... Here's hoping the NZ Warriors sort their act out this season.

To iPhone or not to iPhone, that is the question...

I currently have a dilemma. I would like an iPod, and also need a new cellphone... Do I fork out the extra cash and combine the two?... hmmm

Ginger Beard Man

So I grew a beard at the tail end of last year, I was quite proud of my effort(above)...
Turns out there's also a website devoted beards of the ginger kind... Check it out here.

Safer Communities Together

For those who never saw this, I'm bringing it back up again...
And I thought the Police had no sense of humour...

Autotune - The Comedy Version...

I have to say that I appreciate a little bit of 'autotune' in songs here and there. But it seems artists these days are terribly overdoing it. So here's an example of how hilarious it can actually be rather than some overdone new school musical trend...

Some of you will know this video (Charlie bit my finger), but for those who don't...
Here's the original:

And here's the Autotune Remix: (I couldn't stop laughing at this one!).

Drum Kit - Ron Winter

Check out this awesome Drum Kit Soundboard by artist Ron Winter. You can use your mouse or keys to play some funky new-school electro-pop sounds (with added flashing images for some of the sounds even). Go on, click here and have a play. But I shall warn you it may become addictive...

Also check out Ron Winter online here.

Is That Odd?

A few weekends ago I played golf with the boys in the rain. And no-one noticed I was wearing odd socks... is that odd? Was more than happy with my chip onto the green on the 3rd though...

Ronin Tattoo

A few weeks ago I sat in on a friends tattoo session with Steve Wood from Ronin Tattoo - a custom Tattoo Studio in Auckland. It was the first time I had seen Tattooing done first hand and it was awesome to see. Steve answered all my stupid uneducated questions and myths I had heard and relayed to him during the session. Steve is a wicked artist with years of experience so if you're after an awesome custom design and quality job done right make sure you get in touch with Steve. Check out Ronin Tattoo on myspace here.

Summer Vines Dance Party

Coming up this weekend (just in time for what I reckon is obviously the start of summer now that the weather is finally acting like it) is the Summer Vines Dance Party brought to you by Vilagrad Winery. A bevy of DJs and MCs will all converge on the one night for a huge party. I'll be there playing a percussion set and my good friend DJ Wiggles will be playing a set also, so there's two good reasons to head along. If you're in the area and don't mind a bit of house/electro/dance come check it out, i've heard big things about this event. The last one sold out so it may pay to get a ticket incase you miss out!

Chameleon Trickery

Check out this video, its pretty cool but i'm not entirely convinced it's real...

Shouldn't it turn brown while it's on the table?... or am I just being a hater?

Fight of the Century

The same day I became an Uncle I also went to the 'Fight of the Century' between NZ Heavyweights David 'the tuamanator' Tua and Shane 'the mountain warrior' Cameron. Being the event that it was me and the boys put on a tidy shirt for fight night and headed along early to catch the undercards. Funnily enough we saw a few well known NZ celebrities who actually had worse seats than us, shame. And being a Tua supporter and having listened to the banter over the interviews for the months leading up to the big fight I was pretty pumped to see David Tua knock down Cameron 3 times and stop the fight in under 4 minutes for what was scheduled to go 12 rounds. So excited in fact that when there was not a single bum on their seat after Tua unleashed I yelled at one of my friends "bro lets learn how to box!". The wait in traffic to get out of the venue was 10 times longer than the actual fight itself but I still enjoyed watching it live and direct. About 10 seconds into the second round Cameron took 13 consecutive punches to the head before hitting the canvas, I guess that's what happens when you get a bit cheeky...

Uncle Deano

As of Saturday the 3rd of October I am now a proud uncle for the first time ever to my gorgeous little niece Zoe. Props to her mum, former goodas blog poster and my big sister Sarah as well as dad Joel two. Proud as punch.

Still Thinking This Is Hilarious!

Now I know this happened weeks ago but I still thinks it's hilarious. Everyone rallied behind Taylor Swift but I couldn't help but laugh. Apologies on the bad video quality as the actual footage was removed from Youtube. Check it.

Kanye has since apologized about it but what's also funny is how surprised about it everyone was. Do they not remember him doing the same thing a few years before? Here's the video.

I'm gonna be honest. It's obvious he's had a few brewskies before these award shows or as he put it "a lil' sippy sippy". I especially love the line "if i lose, the award show loses credibility". All this really just cements the fact that he's a party boy. The worst of it all was the terrible squiggles he had shaved into his hair in the first video..... what was he thinking?

Arcade Classics

Check out my latest score! 'Game Zone - 118 Arcade Classics' including: Kung Fu, Paper Boy, Defender, Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, Pac Man, Tetris and Galaxa as well as another 110 I have never seen before. Some pretty sweet old school action and it's all in the controller - 'Just plug into the TV and play!' Not bad for $16...

Good ol' John

Check out our NZ Prime Minister on 'The Late Show with David Letterman'. He didn't do a bad job of the shows 'Top 10 List' but it's a little obvious it was written for an american audience. Regardless it's always good to see our little corner of the world getting love from the big guys. Check it.
