I like Facebook, I use Facebook. But, it's bad enough people are talking in 'TXT' lingo these days... next thing you know you'll hear people shouting "like!" or "dislike!" after forgetting it was cool(even though it never has been) to say 'LoLz' and 'OmG' in normal speech conversations. Lets just hope that day never comes and people can remember how to talk properly... lol ;)

Like or Dislike?
I really hope the internet social networking juggernaut that is 'Facebook' doesn't end up making stuff like this a reality...

Who's keen to pitch in?
Now, I'm not exactly a millionaire but lets face it if I had too much money floating around in my many offshore bank accounts stacking up interest from my multinational corporate property developments I would throw some at one of these package(yes that's right) - Package! deals... It's a simple package, but a goodie. Superyacht + Supercar = Super Sweet Super Package. Introducing the Strand Craft 122...
This 38 metre long streamline Superyacht comes with an unlikely surprise... a garage. Well lets be honest where are you going to put your twin-turbo V12 880bhp Supercar when you're not hooning around on land? The Superyachts engine which is also not shy of a little power has twin Rolls Royce engines with an optional extra booster engine making up about 14,000hp for a top cruising speed of approximately 234mph - or 55 knots in sailors terms. Only six will be built, each capable of hitting 60mph from rest in 3.2 seconds. Not bad I guess...

And then down inside you'll find a reception, salon areas, crew cabins and four double and very large staterooms. Most of the rooms also integrate 52″ LED TV's and Bang Olufson sound systems in all rooms, and blah blah blah which basically means it would be pretty sweet to go hooning round the water in.
The Designer admits the Superyachts looks have been inspired by the Ferarri Testa Rossa sports car. He's a man of interesting words... he said the boat was "something you want to be seen in - the sexiest damn boat in the harbour!" and that "we have really tried to achieve a strong harmony in our design - so that the car looks like it was literally born inside the hull of the yacht" which is a strange but interesting thought...
So if you fancy picking up one of these combo's and have $25 million(yep that's how much) hidden under your mattress, check out their site here.
I don't really have the cash so I reckon we pass the hat around and see what happens... Who's keen to pitch in?

A Show of Hands Please...
Apples pending release: The iPhone 4. Going purely on first impressions and thinking mainly from an aesthetic point of view... who else is a little disappointed?
I mean, sure it's probably awesome from a technological perspective... but man its ugly!

More Short Film Kiwiana
Here's another little short film "Two Cars, One Night" directed by Taika Waititi whos recent film 'Boy' both written and directed by Waititi featured the main character who played 'the BMX Kid' in my previous post. Check it out...
"While waiting for their parents, two boys and a girl meet in the carpark of a rural New Zealand pub. What at first seems to be a relationship based on rivalry soon develops into a close friendship as we learn that love can be found in the most unlikely of places. Nominated for the 2005 Academy Award for Best Live Action Short."

Welcome Back
Finally the NRL is back for 2010! And it's a welcomed return from me and many of my friends. I have something to watch on tv now, the last few months have been boring... Here's hoping the NZ Warriors sort their act out this season.
To iPhone or not to iPhone, that is the question...
I currently have a dilemma. I would like an iPod, and also need a new cellphone... Do I fork out the extra cash and combine the two?... hmmm

Autotune - The Comedy Version...
I have to say that I appreciate a little bit of 'autotune' in songs here and there. But it seems artists these days are terribly overdoing it. So here's an example of how hilarious it can actually be rather than some overdone new school musical trend...

Some of you will know this video (Charlie bit my finger), but for those who don't...
Here's the original:
And here's the Autotune Remix: (I couldn't stop laughing at this one!).

Is That Odd?
A few weekends ago I played golf with the boys in the rain. And no-one noticed I was wearing odd socks... is that odd? Was more than happy with my chip onto the green on the 3rd though...

Ronin Tattoo
A few weeks ago I sat in on a friends tattoo session with Steve Wood from Ronin Tattoo - a custom Tattoo Studio in Auckland. It was the first time I had seen Tattooing done first hand and it was awesome to see. Steve answered all my stupid uneducated questions and myths I had heard and relayed to him during the session. Steve is a wicked artist with years of experience so if you're after an awesome custom design and quality job done right make sure you get in touch with Steve. Check out Ronin Tattoo on myspace here.

Summer Vines Dance Party

Coming up this weekend (just in time for what I reckon is obviously the start of summer now that the weather is finally acting like it) is the Summer Vines Dance Party brought to you by Vilagrad Winery. A bevy of DJs and MCs will all converge on the one night for a huge party. I'll be there playing a percussion set and my good friend DJ Wiggles will be playing a set also, so there's two good reasons to head along. If you're in the area and don't mind a bit of house/electro/dance come check it out, i've heard big things about this event. The last one sold out so it may pay to get a ticket incase you miss out!

Shouldn't it turn brown while it's on the table?... or am I just being a hater?

Fight of the Century

The same day I became an Uncle I also went to the 'Fight of the Century' between NZ Heavyweights David 'the tuamanator' Tua and Shane 'the mountain warrior' Cameron. Being the event that it was me and the boys put on a tidy shirt for fight night and headed along early to catch the undercards. Funnily enough we saw a few well known NZ celebrities who actually had worse seats than us, shame. And being a Tua supporter and having listened to the banter over the interviews for the months leading up to the big fight I was pretty pumped to see David Tua knock down Cameron 3 times and stop the fight in under 4 minutes for what was scheduled to go 12 rounds. So excited in fact that when there was not a single bum on their seat after Tua unleashed I yelled at one of my friends "bro lets learn how to box!". The wait in traffic to get out of the venue was 10 times longer than the actual fight itself but I still enjoyed watching it live and direct. About 10 seconds into the second round Cameron took 13 consecutive punches to the head before hitting the canvas, I guess that's what happens when you get a bit cheeky...

Tua using his giant left hook.

Shane Cameron the day after...
